Portable Android Platform
Just when you thought that Android couldn’t get any better, a new company called WIMM came along. As of earlier today, WIMM has announced the making of a small, wearable, computing platform that is built based on Android.
The product is called the WIMM One and it will be released in the third quarter of this year. The platform has a 1.4 inch touch screen display and has Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Besides this, it also includes an accelerometer, and magnetometer is order to track your motion (i.e. on a bike or while you’re running). The WIMM One is designed to be fit into wristwatches, keychains, or even a clip for your bicycle.

Apple’s Next Surprise
According to a article by Digitimes, Apple has been making numerous deals with different Taiwan-based component factories in hopes of making their next “surprise”, the iPad 3, a cheaper more available product.
Some of these companies include Richtek Technology, Capella Microsystems, and Novatek Microelectronics.
The new iPad will have an improved display along with full 1080p HD support. Rumors say that it will arrive with the iPhone 5 in September but a recent report from China Times states that the launch will be delayed until November.
Samsung’s iPod Competition
It has been announced that Samsung will be revealing their own mp3 player based on their Galaxy S phones in order to compete with Apple’s iPod touch at CES next week. The mp3 player looks very similar to the Galaxy S phone but of course will not actually have the phone capabilities. However, it will be running on Android 2.2.
Not much is known about the device yet but reports say that it will be 9.9mm wide with a 4 inch LCD touch screen display. Besides running on Android 2.2, the device will have a 1GHz processor, 3.2 megapixel camera with HD video playback. It of course will have Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and GPS capabilities and an expandable MicroSD card slot. And like all Android devices, you will be able to purchase and download apps from the market.
So not much is know yet, but from what is, it looks to be a great competitor to the iPod Touch and the Zune HD. In my mind, it looks like Samsung is catching on to Apple’s selling techniques with a competitor to the iPhone, iPad, and now iPod. What are your thoughts? Leave a comment below.

Apple iPad coming to Verizon users?!
Earlier today, Apple announced that one of their latest products, the iPad, will be available to Verizon Wireless users on October 28th. The iPad and its bundle will cost $630 for a 16GB model, $730 for a 32GB model and $830 for a 64GB model. Besides this, Verizon will also offer a $20 monthly data plan for up to 1GB of data.
Although this is great, Verizon will unfortunatly not be selling 3G versions of the iPad. To replace this, they will be selling the regular Wi-Fi iPad with their own mobile hot spots which will allow users to connect to the internet anywhere where the 3G network can be used.
Many people believe that this is a start to something great. With Apple making a “bond” with Verizon Wireless we could start seeing Verizon selling more Apple products such as the iPhone as early as early next year.
What are your thoughts on the Apple-Verizon bond?
