Anonymous Comes Through on Promise

Apparently, the hacking group, Anonymous, has followed through with their promise to “attack” the website of the Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART) today.

Earlier today, the group had threatened to take the website offline for about 6 hours today, or at least twice the amount of time that BART officials took cell phone service offline at some stations Thursday night in order to try to cut down a protest planned.  The attack from Anonymous was scheduled to start at noon today.

Though this didn’t happen.  Around 12:30, the site was running slower than normal and had one small change showing the Anonymous logo on the main page of the site.  Further into the “attack” , it came to everyone’s attention that Anonymous hackers had also aquired and posted a database full of e-mails, addresses, and some phone numbers of accounts found on the BART website.
