The Never Ending Battery

Dead batteries will soon be a thing of the past with new “in-shoe” technology.

From the University of Wisconsin, Tom Krupenkin and Ashley Taylor have developed a shoe insert that creates electrical energy from people’s footsteps.  It works by creating energy from thermodynamic energy that people generate from each footfall.  It is said that the technology could fully charge a phone in just a 2 hour walk!

So far, production of electrical power to charge your phone is minimal.  However, this is just a start and these two will be working on perfecting the technology in hopes that you will never have to worry about your phone battery dying ever again.

  1. Wow this is awesome news !!!

  2. this is nice but would you be able to put the use in to a propeller of a plane, the thermodynamic energy that forms when it spins would make it last forever????

  3. connect it to a small energetic child and im sure there is erm raw power ready and waiting.
