Upgrade Your Verizon Phone Early

If you are a Verizon customer feeling “trapped” inside your 20-month contract then fear no more because Verizon has been offering early upgrades to their customers in order to take advantage of new top-of-the-line devices coming out this fall.

Verizon has been sending out e-mails out to customers informing them of the recent change.  Verizon has been giving these early upgrades to only certain customers.  Customers with a scheduled update for September are receiving the early upgrade and certain customers that would have had to wait until May of 2012 are also getting rewarded.

This sudden “reward” for customers is most likely because of the anticipated release of new smartphone such as the iPhone 5, and the Motorola Droid Bionic.  The LG Revolution 2, HTC Vigor and the Droid Prime are also expected to be released this fall and Verizon would like to get as many eligible customers to purchase these new devices in order to help makes the launches successful.

This of course will strike up some competition between cellphone companies.  Because of this we can probably expect companies like AT&T and Sprint (who will most likely be selling the iPhone 5) to offer their customers the same early upgrade so keep your heads up if you are not on Verizon’s network.
