Samsung and Boost Mobile has recently announced the release their newest phone, the Samsung Seek. This is something new for Boost Mobile. It is their first touch screen and slide out phone (slide out QWERTY keboard). It became available on Boost Mobile’s website and selected stores on August 25th for $149.
The Seek has a 2.6 inch touch screen with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. The phone also includes Bluetooth, GPS, social networking sites, and email/instant messaging. The part of the Seek the seems to drive customers away is the pathetic camera built in. The Seek has a 1.3 megapixel camera. To be some what nice, I give props to Samsung because it is pretty hard to find any phone on the market that has less than a 2 megapixel camera. Besides that, the phone also supports up to 32GB of internal storage which is a must for the built in music player.
In my opinion, this phone is a little bit caught in the past. Besides the touch screen and the ability to access internet, there are not too many things about the phone that seem to compare with other phones that recently came out, even the failure of a phone Dell Aero seems to beat it in a contest. The main things that turned me away from the Seek is the small screen and the extremely low quality camera.
