New Samsung phone for Verizon

Earlier this week, Verizon announced the arrival of their newest Samsung phone. The Samsung Continuum. The phone was released today (Nov. 11) only for order for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a new two year contract.  On November 18th, the Continuum will be available for purchase.

One of the main things people will notice about this phone is that it has not one, but two Super AMOLED display screens. The main display is 3.4 inches with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution.  The second screen, which is a customizable ticker display, is 1.8 inches.  This ticker display offers users up-to-date news, sports scores, finance, and social networking updates.

The outside of this phone is pretty compact and thin.  It has a 5 megapixel camera with a LED flash.  Along with this camera, it can record video in 720p HD which is a pretty common feature in the newer smartphones.

The phone will be running on Android 2.1 and will have a 1GHz processor making this phone just about as fast as you can get it. It will also have 512MB of ROM and 384 MB of RAM.

This phone is looking to be great.  The only downside is that it comes in one color, black. Which isn’t too bad but to some people, they may want different colors. What do you think?

New affordable smartphone for only $30?!?!

Word out on the street now is that T-Mobile will be announcing a new smartphone to their lineup.  The phone is called the LG Optimus T and will only cost $30!

The phone itself has an incredibly slick design considering the cheap price. What makes it awesome is that it runs on Android 2.2, has a 3 megapixel camera and also has a 3.2 inch touch screen. Besides all of this, the phone also includes the newest texting method called swype. Not bad for $30!

The phone goes on sale Wednesday, November 3rd for $29.99 with your choice of color (black or burgundy).  Of course to get this price you will need to sign up for a two year contract and there will be a $50 mail in rebate.

This phone looks pretty sick considering the cheap price.  Besides the slick design, it also runs on the latest Android software and has a 3.2 inch touch screen.  If you have a low budget and need a new phone, I would definitely recommend this one.

Samsung Fascinate Unboxing with review

Hey guys, this is just an update to my Samsung Fascinate post because last week, I received the phone and I will be doing a unboxing video and a full review on my youtube channel.  The videos will be below, check them out!

New Windows 7 phone leaked!

Earlier today some information on the specs of the new HTC HD7 Windows smartphone was leaked to the public. The phone will be released to the public in mid October and by looking at what the phone has in store for us, it seems that it has a lot to offer.

To start off, the HD7 will have a 4.3 inch LCD touch screen display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution.  The display also supports multi-touch.  The phone itself has a 1GHz Qualcomm processor with 512MB of ROM making the phone extremely fast and smooth.  Besides this, it will also come with 8GB of internal storage for storing media files and everything else.

The HD7 will come with a 5 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash and autofocus making your pictures come out in great quality.  Further more, you will be able to capture video but we’re not sure if it will be HD or not yet.  And as a popular feature on newer phones, the HD7 will also have a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can plug in your mp3 headphones and save the money of buying certain cell phone headphones just to listen to music.  Finally, the phone will have a HDMI output port to playback videos on your tv in the best quality possible.

Besides all of this, the phone will work on 3G networks in the U.S. and in Europe.  Also, the HD7 will include Wi-Fi, GPS, FM radio, and bluetooth.

Overall, I think this phone will be a great add-on to the public’s list of choices for smartphones.  I will update this post when I find out more information on the phone.

Motorola launches its newest phone this winter

Earlier this year, Motorola announced their new phone, the Motorola Defy.  They recently announced that it will be released to the public this winter for T-Mobile users.

The main appearence of the phone is the shell-like structure built on it in order to make it “life proof”.  Motorola says that it can resist impact, waterproof, and dust proof.  This is the first phone that will actually be able to resist water.  Motorola also stated that you would be able to take the phone in the shower and it would not be affected at all.  If this is all true, the phone will be a great option to those people who are clumbsy or just not careful with their cell phones.

The phone itself has a 3.7 inch touch screen with 480×854 resolution.  It also includes a 5 megapixel camera along with flash on the back of the phone. The Defy also includes a QWERTY touch screen keyboard that many reviewers have said it to be fast and accurate. Also, the new form of typing, swype, will be installed on the phone for all of you who like to text or type faster.

On the down side, the Defy still runs on the outdated Android 2.1 software and has only a 800MHz processor compared to most other smartphones that run on Android 2.2 and 1GHz processor.  It doesn’t support 3G networking yet but that is likely to change not too long after it is released this winter.  On the bright side, the Defy is one of the few smart phones that can run Adobe Flash 10.1 so you can fully enjoy the features of the internet right on your phone.

I think this phone will be a great addition to the smartphone “family”.  Besides being able to run Adobe flash and having a 5 megapixel camera, the fact that the phone is waterproof is just amazing.

Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate interrupts Droid lineup

Recently announced, the new Samsung Fascinate is going to be available for public pick-up later this week (or tomorrow online) for Verizon customers.  It will be sold for $199 with a 2-year contract.  It will be hard for the phone to fit into the Android “lineup” but by looking at the specs, it does a nice job of fitting in perfectly.

The Fascinate is part of the Galaxy S lineup and the first of its kind to come to Verizon.  Like I said, it does fit in very well. The phone will have a 4 inch touch screen with 2GB of internal storage and the customer will have the option of upgrading it with a 16GB MicroSD memory card.  The Fascinate’s 1500 mAh battery is said to be about equivalent to the Motorola Droid x battery meaning that it should definitely last you a decent amount of time.

The phone itself looks to be amazing.  It will have a 1GHz  processor making navigating the phone quick and easy.  Adding to that, the Fascinate will have high end 3D graphics and video acceleration bringing multimedia and gaming to a whole new level for customers.

Also, the phone will include a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and will also allow the user to record video in 720p!  The Fascinate will also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability and will also include a 3.5mm headphone jack for all of your music and media playing needs.

To me, this phone looks great and I think it will fit in with the Android “family” perfectly (considering it is better than some Android phones).

New HTC Android smartphone leaked!!

The FCC leaked photos of the newest HTC Android smartphone today.  The phone is said to be heading towards Verizon when it is finally released.  So Verizon users, get excited.

The phone itself looks like it will be pretty good looking.  It will have dual 3G modems along with Wi-Fi capability.  The phone will also have a 4 inch touch screen and expandable internal memory for maximum storage.

Although the iPhone is leading in the smartphone race right now, Android phones are catching up quickly and this new device should definitely help boost Android’s standings.

Sorry that this is such a short post, but that’s all I know about the phone so far. Stay tuned for updates.

New Apple products, everyone freak out!!!

As predicted in an earlier post, Apple has made new generations of the iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano, and on September 1st, they were released.  Apple says that all of the three new iPods will be available next week, but can be pre-orderd right now.

Starting off the lineup, there has been some major changes in the iPod Touch’s features.  Apple has added a front facing camera to the device and also a camera on the back that records in full HD making video taking crisp and clear.  The Touch also has iOS 4.1 with gamecenter making gaming on the iPod touch amazing and bringing it to be the number one portable game player in the world.  The iPod will have approximatly 40 hours of battery life and will come in three different models.  There will be a 8GB for $229, a 32GB for $299, and a 64GB for $399.

Next up, Apple made a new iPod shuffle which was the least exciting of the meeting heldthis morning.  The new Shuffle will have 2GB of memory and will cost about $49.  TheShuffle will include the general buttons, the ability to create playlists, voice over, and genius mixes.  The battery life on this device should last close to 15 hours.

Finally, Steve Jobs announced the new iPod Nano.  The new Nano has a big change to the way it looks as now it is more of a large square, not a rectangle.  Jobs says that it is about 46% smaller and 42% lighter.  Some new features on the device include: home buttons like those found on the iPhone and iPod Touch, multi-touch, a clip for easy transportation, FM radio, a hard volume button, and can support up to 29 different languages. The battery on the new iPod Nano is said to last 24 hours.

After hearing about all of this, I got pretty excited.  The new Nano looks sweet and the new iPod Touch I am sure will catch everyone’s eye with its new front and back facing cameras that can shoot in full HD. I definatly want to go out and get one of these as soon as possible!

Samsung Epic 4G, how epic is it?

Sprint has announced a new Galaxy S phone to enter their lineup called the Samsung Epic 4G. The phone differs from other Galaxy S phones by giving users the options of a full slide out QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard’s layout is somewhat larger than other QWERTY keyboards on the market. The buttons are larger and the and are spaced further apart making texting or typing much easier and giving the user less chance of accidentally hitting the wrong letter.

The Epic has a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480. The phone has a 50,000:1 contrast ratio which in return, supports movies and games to the max. The Epic also has a bulit in 3.5 mm headphone jack and also a 5 megapixel camera with a LED light for both camera and video. To add to that, there is also a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera incuded on the Epic compared to the 1.3 megapixel camera on the HTC Evo.

The phone runs on Android 2.1 along with a 1GHz processor making the phone very quick and responsive. The Epic also has 512MB of RAM, giving the Iphone 4 and the HTC Evo competition. Having 4G connection, the browser is able to run on top speeds out there. However, 4G is a relitivily new service so not everyone will be able to experience it. But when it becomes more popular, people will be astounded on how incredibly fast it is (this is a big addiction to the “epicness” of the phone).

I believe that this will be a great addition to the Android “family”. It provides the customer with a bunch of the latest qualities on a smartphone including the 4G network and a front facing camera. And giving the Iphone a challenge, I think it will be interesting to see how many people pick this phone over it.
